Most of the time, when painting for myself, I use to do videogames fan art. I really like playing videogames and love to paint some characters. There's a lot of characters from a lot of different games I could be interested in painting. Problem is I don't have much spare time.
Another problem with this is that I don't paint things that I've been requested to paint (even if I like the idea or the characters) on my free time (meaning "for free") as I'm trying to make a living from this. Once said that, if I happen to paint a videogame character I don't have any problems with the painting being featured in blogs or other webs as you did with this image.
